After cleaning block paving, the jointing sand must be replenished. The original sand is partially removed during cleaning (this is unavoidable with any effective method), and without replacement, blocks become unstable and weeds re-establish quickly. We use quality kiln-dried sand, brushed into every joint and compacted with a plate vibrator for optimal stability.
Poured concrete driveways develop a characteristic black organic staining over time, particularly in shaded areas. This is a combination of algae, atmospheric pollution and oxidised mineral deposits.
